There's a stark sleekness to the Matrix. The free-standing fireplace (akin to a Jenga tower) gives off a Zen vibe while the cool concrete and decorative chains by the mirror add industrial minimalism. Serpentine seating reserved for bottle-service clientele lines the suede walls. Without reservations, you can take a seat by the fireplace, at the bar, or at any of the rear tables in the mocked-up library. Broken up into time slots, each night offers a different vibe depending on the hour: In lieu of a happy hour, there's the Early Bird with $5 beers and well drinks, and the nightly calendar rotates DJs and genres between Top 40, soul, funk, dance music, and what they call "Party Rock." As far as cocktails go, try the Raspberry Beret, which is made with St. Germain Elderflower, hand-pressed lemons, and fresh raspberries.
