The drinks are the focus at this Tex-Mex-inspired spot in West Seattle. Check out the inlaid cherry- and maple-wood bar, the antique and handmade light fixtures, and the ornate metal work adorning the entrance and bar area. Plates of enchiladas with slow-roasted tomatillo sauce and fish, steak, pork, or chicken tacos are gigantic. Weekend brunch is popular, too. The feel at the Matador is south-of-the-border saloon: Masculine with lots of wood, an open fire pit, and an elaborate wrought iron doorway with a steel steer skull. Everything (and everyone) is sexy here, without being pretentious, which makes for a fun, loud night out.
I recommend Matador's margaritas - SO good!
They have a huge Tequila list which can be a little overwhelming, but I did try out their Matador Margarita. Though I typically have my marg's blended, this was quite tasty regardless. So if you ever find yourself wandering around West Seattle looking for some late night grub other than Taco Bell, I definitely recommend the Matador.
