Description

Famous, or perhaps infamous, for the amount of canoodling that happens on the couches in its secluded upstairs loft, Marfreless has been among Houstonians' most preferred trysting spots for 35 years. Truly hidden away behind the West Gray shops on Peden St. near the River Oaks Theater, the bar is identified only by its blue door (almost as famous as the couches) and no exterior signage. Inside, a Parisian lounge vibe prevails as classical music wafts through the air. Happy hours run 5-8 p.m. weekdays, and free pizza is provided at Monday's trivia night.

Great bar to relax and enjoy a few drinks. Very romantic atmosphere and comfortable couches. The staff provides great service. They also play classical music in the background. Very soothing and relaxing.
