In a quaint house that echoes the family-friendly setting (with the decibel level, to boot), proprietor Manny Rios serves family recipes, ones almost identical to Manny's Uptown big sister, Mia's Tex-Mex. The menu is a culinary blueprint of Tex-Mex, with everything from the brisket taco, a house specialty, to the ground beef "Alisa's changa" and the spinach enchilada available in the Southwestern-inspired interior or on the raucous patio packed with families and their restless broods. Pretty good brisket... I have found that no matter where you go... the quality of the Brisket sometimes depends on the time of day you get there.
Awesome Food! Great fajita's....do not forget your manny's taxicab because you will need one after this margarita.
Fabulous patio!
In September 2005, we gave the relatively new Manny's Uptown a so-so review. The menu, created by former Mia's chef Javier Hernandez, engendered lofty expectations for our critic, and he came away disappointed by the inconsistent dishes and the spotty service. Perhaps it took a few months to work out the kinks, but Manny's is on top of its game these days, offering an extensive array of Tex-Mex dishes that unlike others in its culinary genre don't swim in a murky sea of cheese and sour...
