Blending Japanese and French cuisine in a casual, elegant Pasadena restaurant, chef and owner Akira Hirose was born in Kyoto, Japan, and later practiced his culinary skills in Paris, France. Hirose creates Hollywood Bowl picnic bento boxes and lunch bentos with Asian-style beef terriyaki, salmon, as well as French-influenced beef bourguignon and portobello mushroom ravioli. Special gourmet bento boxes, prepared by the chef, are also available for $15-$20.
