Late one Sunday evening, when the restaurant could have gotten by reheating everything in the microwave, the food came out cooked to order, including a wonderful version of Harlem-style fried chicken, with a crackling crust and moist meat; a juicy burger with perfect hand-cut fries; fettuccini with a knock-your-socks-off gorgonzola sauce; and best of all, puffy biscuits served with a dipping sauce more bouillon than gravy. No wonder this joint-decorated like a Victorian cathouse, with dimpled leatherette booths instead of beds-is an obsession with Pratt students. Voluminous entrées mean you can skip the apps.
