For more than a half-century, this local favorite has been serving up the state’s best sopapillas, enchiladas, and rellenos. Macayo’s is a Central Avenue landmark that serves refried beans you’ll crave, flan you’ll dream about, and soft tacos that set the bar. The story goes that the chimichanga was invented here, and we tend to believe it, if only because no other chimi in this town or any other tastes as great.
