Description

Located underneath a large cement parking garage a block from Pike Place, Ludi's is easily identified by a vertical sign with bold green lettering. During lunch, construction workers wolf down hot beef sandwiches and teriyaki. At happy hour, R&B selections dominate the jukebox, and most of the crowd is double-fisting - one for liquor, and a beer for backup.

No collection of characteristics can be melded to truly define what makes a bar a dive. Some have vomit-caked toilet seats in the bathroom; others have cracked vinyl booths in the barroom. Some have nicotine-stained murals dating back to the Depre... More »
