Kris Ferreri grew up in Buffalo and came to Denver with a plan to introduce the Rocky Mountain West to the true, two-note cuisine of his hometown: the Buffalo chicken wing and thick-and-sweet, Buffalo-style pizza. While the menu also includes sandwiches, salads and boasts several derivations of the pizza-and-wings combo (including BBQ and jerk wings, taco pizzas and such), it's best to stick with the classics.
Luciano's Pizza and Wings has reached the end of the line. In addition to the notice posted last month that the property had been seized by the City of Denver for non-payment of taxes, there's now a s... More »
Luciano's Pizza and Wings has a number of signs on its windows, letting potential customers know that the restaurant is no longer open on Mondays. There is also a different kind of sign that lets peop... More »
Luciano's Pizza and Wings, which closed for five days last week after posting a lockout order on its door, is back in business. The Buffalo-style restaurant reopened over the weekend after what co-par... More »
Some people (and you know who you are) seem to think that I do not love the food being done at Luciano's Pizza and Wings. Yes, I have compared the pizzas there with the pizzas I remember from "Pizza Thursday" back in high school. Yes, I have... More »

The Buffalo-style pizzas are square, touched with a sweet sauce, mounted on a crust that's thicker than you... More »
Kris Ferreri grew up in Buffalo, cut his teeth on the two-note cuisine that made Buffalo famous. Chicken wings and pizza, pizza and chicken wings -- that's really all Buffalo has besides the Bills. And now we have the wings and pizza, because Ferreri now runs a joint on Broadway, where he offers Denver an honest taste of the things he knows best. And while the boxy, slightly thicker-than-Brooklyn pies are good, what he does best are the wings -- tender, slathered in just the right kind of... More »
The chicken wing took off in Buffalo, New York, so it's no wonder that the best chicken wings in town are made by a man who spent most of his life steeped in the near-mythological upstate New York pizza-and-wing scene. Kris Ferreri, owner of Luciano's Pizza and Wings, comes from a family whose Buffalo roots go back to the turn of the last century, and what he's brought to the Mile High City is a pitch-perfect copy of the best chicken wings in the world -- a fact that Ferreri never lets...
