Tim Love is quite the superstar chef these days, what with all those Top Chef appearances, cookware collections and mayonnaise endorsements. While he may be best known for his pricy Lonesome Dove steakhouse that serves everything from kangaroo nachos to elk tenderloin, those looking to sample Love’s cooking at a more entry-level price point can head to Love Shack at the Fort Worth Stockyards, where the name of the game is burgers, fries and shakes. The signature “Dirty Love” burger features a quail egg, bacon and the disturbingly named but delicious “Love sauce.” There are also chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos and crazier creations like the “Amore Caliente,” a burger patty topped with guac, cheese and poblanos wrapped in a flour tortilla.
Bad Service Experience: A couple of friends and our wives rode our Harley's out to the stock yards on Saturday 04.06.2013 and spent the afternoon walking around and checking out the history of the area. After looking around at all the other places to eat, we decided to roll up to the Love Shack and try a burger about 6pm. Cool place with a nice vibe, live music, out door multi-level eating areas and large stage. We were really looking forward to just chillin' out for while. It is a small walk up corner spot with several people waiting in two lines so we got in line street side. There was only one girl waiting on people she was alternating between the two lines. After a couple people in front of us ordered, we stepped up, but the young girl totally ignored us and only waited on the people in the other line. After the 4th person I said "excuse me, we would like to order" and she still wouldn't wait on us. Maybe since we weren't all cowboy'd up and didn't quite fit the rest of the crowd, our presence was unwanted. We took our $$$ down the street and spent $200 at place with better service.
The dirty love burger with its crispy fried qual egg and tangy love sauce is a must try...make sure you get a side of their awesome fresh cut fries . A nice ice cold beer will complete the delicious dinner.
Get the Dirty Love Burger, it's incredible...
After we watched Fort Worth's Tim Love on Top Chef Masters, he truly earned our respect. He made an impressive trio of dishes--in a dorm room--with accidentally frozen ingredients. But it's away from the cameras and back in the Stockyards kitchens where Love really impresses. His flavor profiles aren't overly complex combinations that shock the palate; they're simple, thoughtful and--when it comes to his Love Shack burgers--oh-so savory. Love grinds fresh daily half prime... More »
There's nothing worse than a crappy burger. OK, maybe a crappy hot dog is worse because it's already made of crap and the crappy ones would have to be made out of something crappier. Anyway, chef Tim Love says there's nothing worse than a crappy... More »
