Matt LaBarge, owner of hi-dive/Sputnik, took over the former Bulldog Bar space, which was the Monroe Tavern and Mr. Von's Alamo before that, he transformed the spot into a cabin-styled lounge that's inspired by some older bars in Silver Lake area of Los Angeles. As LeBarge says, the Lost Lake is a cool, dark, little wooden lounge loosely reminiscent of the older days.

Matt, the owner, who also co-owns Sputnik/Hi-Dive is at it again. While only a few months old, it is now my favorite place to hang out on Colfax. You will see the same crowd as you will at his other places as well as the Bluebird Theater crowd as it's 2 blocks away.
