William S. Hart Ranch and Museum

Map & Directions 24151 Newhall Ave.
Newhall, CA 91321

LA Weekly's Description

This museum, located in Newhall, is the actual ranch, built in 1926, where the famous cowboy movie star William S. Hart once lived. A Spanish Colonial Revival-style mansion, it features artwork as well as memorabilia from Hart’s films. The surrounding grounds house farm animals and bison, as well as a picnic area and hiking trails. Although some renovations are under way, part of the museum’s charm is its chipped paint and neglected cobwebs.
