LA Weekly's Description

Los Angeles isn't exactly Chicago or Greenpoint, Brooklyn, when it comes to Polish cooking - the local Polish community just isn't that big. But you can find Polish salamis and cured meats at any number of Eastern European delicatessens, or even the East Hollywood location of Jon's supermarket. Warszawa in Santa Monica, one of the better Eastern European restaurants in the country, is more refined, a bit expensive and quite delicious: crackly skinned roast duck, the hunter's stew called bigos, and about a million different kinds of vodka to wash it all down with.

Happy hour prices on the patio are cheap.

  • Lydia A. on 11/22/10

An EXCEPTIONAL place to get your Eastern European groove on! Favorites include mushroom pierogis, the Hunter's Stew "Bigos", stuffed cabbage rolls & a cold beet borscht that is an instant aura fluff!

  • Eliot ♥. on 10/17/12

You can eat on the couches now!

Great happy hour menu. Awesome polish food. Vinnie is the man. And the Alcohol poster when ya walk in is great.

  • KCRW on 03/01/12

KCRW's Evan Kleiman & Jonathan Gold have Warszawa on the short list for Favorite Pancakes in LA. Try the Latkas "super crisp and a little gooey inside."
