The HMS Bounty
Los Angeles, CA 90010
LA Weekly's Description
It's easy to feel a little weak in the knees at the HMS Bounty Bar on Wilshire in Koreatown. After all, you're practically underwater, what with all the nautical accoutrements and Old World paneling that line the walls. But you can still fortify yourself with a thick steak or a Dark & Stormy from the bar while chatting up the clientele that runs the gamut from Korean grandmothers to downtown hipsters. Making a break for the head is another adventure altogether, one that requires a trip through the fading halls of the attached Gaylord Apartments into a thin, dark room that abuts the laundry facilities.
Tips from foursquare
Beer and a shot for $5.50! The drinks are cheap enough already, but a drink special at the Bounty is a rare occasion.
Look behind the port holes between the juke boxes. :-0
A nautical-themed bar in the bottom floor of the old Gaylord hotel in the heart of Koreatown.
Get a Wise Man's special (a shot & a beer) for $5.50 and entertain yourself with the World's most random jukebox: Babs, INXS, New Kids On The Block and The Wedding March all represent.
Buy the Mayor a beer! :0)
