LA Weekly's Description

This expansive Culver City art gallery, cafe, retail and events space celebrates Japanese dolly, Fruits, cosplay and Lolita culture, all with a Pop Art sensibility. You'll see waitresses in French-maid uniforms and gaggles of grownup female patrons in little-girl getups: Think ruffles, bows, poofy frocks and pink -- lots and lots of pink. This crowd goes gaga for characters such as Hello Kitty, Barbie, Emily the Strange, Andy Warhol and Alice in Wonderland, each of which has been a theme of the T's pop-up shops, megaparties and exhibits, and all of which attract avid, truly audaciously dressed crowds on opening nights. The cafe's menu deserves mention for its refreshing selection (sandwiches, salads, and a whimsical High Tea complete with canapes and cute desserts), and its themed items tied into whatever the gallery or pop-up shop might be showcasing. The Warhol exhibit brought tomato soup and grilled-cheese sandwiches, while the Wonderland show saw "Eat Me" cupcakes and "Drink Me" teas and sets. Look for the hot-pink neon crown out front. The cafe includes a beer and wine bar and also serves the Korean liqueur soju. Street parking, along with a parking lot in the back.

Crazy Japanese art and toys, waitresses in maid costumes, great drinks, tasty eats. What more could ya want?

High tea and desserts are the specialty here - all served by japanese maids (in full costume). The purpose of the maid cafes and their sevice is to make customers feel as though they are at home and to encourage them to relax. Not sure about that - but be sure to ask your "maid" about her underground costume fetish.
