When Michael Cimarusti left the stoves at Water Grill to start Providence, his fans were expecting nothing less than the Los Angeles equivalent of fish palaces like Le Bernardin and Oceana in New York. At this glowing restaurant, he managed to fulfill even those super-high expectations - this is among the best kitchens ever to hit Los Angeles. The menu changes with the season, sometimes Even with the day, but Cimarusti can do no wrong with live Santa Barbara spot prawns, spaghetti a la chitarra with lobster and local sea urchin, Dungeness crab with watermelon or moi, the Hawaiian fish of kings. The dessert tasting menu of pastry chef Adrian Vasquez is a five-course degustation demanding and ambitious enough to command the attention of an entire evening, a universe of puréed avocado and hot cider foam.     so i had a second date here and it was very nice (the restaurant that is). the food was great. the dishes are clean so there isn't much to muddle up the fresh seafood taste. the ambiance was nice, quit and relaxed. a good place to hold a conversation. i want to go back to providence again but this time with someone who doesn't talk about their dieting habits at mcdonalds. ughhhh...

    if you are all about tasting menus, this is the place. perfect for a date or if you just feel like a night of splurging and eating the best of the best. Valet only. you will enjoy.

    If you have time, try the tasting menu. Otherwise, you can never ever go wrong getting salmon here!
