LA Weekly's Description
A stylishly dark restaurant tucked just outside the lobby of Westwood's swank W Hotel, 930 takes it name from the hotel's street address and specializes in New American cuisine. The food is quite good -- generally a smart, flawlessly executed take on whatever ingredients are ubiquitous in any given season. You can get a burger here, but why would you? The skate is much more interesting; so is the beef bourguignon or the salmon, pan-roasted and served with quinoa and sunchokes. The service is good and the restaurant quiet enough for real conversation, but if you feel like a party after dinner, well, Rande Gerber has a bar right outside the door where, as the night goes on, things get loud and you will almost certainly be offered a free drink by a handsome young Persian.
Tips from foursquare
This might be the last place you would expect to find a culinary epiphany in LA... but the dishes seem influenced by pre-Katrina New Orleans restaurant cooking and - pure Thanksgiving! ~Jonathan Gold
Recently a power lunch spot for the Sheen family...Martin Sheen and his wife dined with sons Emilio Estevez and, yes, Charlie Sheen - all ordering salmon except for Martin, who wanted a hamburger
Try the breakfast wrapped without cheese, it comes with great salsa!
The diver scallops with carrot purée and three different dipping Pestos is incredible!
Drunk Mussels are killer!!
