LA Weekly's Description

Home Room is actually two small rooms wedged into a tiny storefront building, which is located just beyond the fringes of hip Silver Lake and Westlake on an overlooked section of Beverly Boulevard, a few blocks southeast of the big Hydra-headed intersection of Virgil Avenue and Beverly and Silver Lake boulevards. One room is a gallery that bursts with riotously colorful (and ever-changing) art installations, and the adjoining room features performances by indie-rock and experimental musicians. The nonprofit venue, staffed by volunteers, also hosts workshops, poetry readings, comedy nights and film screenings. Because Home Room doesn't serve or allow alcohol on the premises, the club is one of the few thriving all-ages live-music venues in Los Angeles, drawing a typically younger crowd than most bars. A large, cartoonish mural decorates the front of the otherwise drab building, and a small sign above the door features Home Room's recognizable dancing-dinosaur logo. The gallery is open on Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m., but live entertainment occurs later on most nights of the week. All ages. Street parking.

I'm being completely unbiased when I say this is the best place for music and art in the world. Do you believe me?
