It’s famous for its huge camellia collection: over 700 species of camellias & some more than 20 ft tall. For young visitors, a ride on Descanso Gardens Enchanted Railway is the highlight.

Bring your camera, you'll take lots of photos. In addition, there are lots of benches to sit and enjoy the Garden.

At one time, the property belonged to newspaper magnate E. Manchester Boddy who owned the Los Angeles Daily News. Because of his love for plants, he operated a garden at the location.
