LA Weekly's Description
Tucked off of Hyperion, behind ivy walls, the Casita hides a massive restaurant space and a small but lively cabaret theater. Between the two, the 50-year-old establishment's bar churns out the strongest margaritas around. There's a dimly-lit bar, a main dining room and outdoor patio seating, all decorated with gaudy 1950s Mexican kitsch. Specialties include half a dozen different enchilada combinations, fajitas, carne asada, and camarones dishes.
Tips from foursquare
Their weekend brunch is great, esp because half the restaurant is dark, for those with unfortunate hangovers or sensitivity to light.
Decent carnitas and a wildly designed interior. Those are real trees in the atrium!
The sweet corn tamales are like unicorns and glitter served on a plate.
The food and margaritas are the best
