Description
LOLA, which stands for "Love Often, Laugh Alot," is among South Florida's endless parade of ultra lounges, and though it has "upscale singles party" written all over it, it manages to nail the concept. The place is prime real estate for people-watching: The valet area looks like a Mercedes dealership, and just beyond those heavy, frosted glass doors is more old money than the Bureau of Engraving takes in all year. Inside, Bocahontases prowl in skirts shorter than the men they date, elderly diners gum food while dressed to the hilt, and former captains of industry sit back against the red-brick wall and soak it all in with a martini or six. To back up the entertainment is a menu of fun small plates, light salads, flatbreads, and meaty main dishes that are as expertly presented as they are prepared. A diverse drink menu with signature cocktails, wines by the glass, and craft beers rounds out the fun. Reservations are highly recommended.
