There's so much to love at this popular café, but we go back for the iced coffee, strong and black and absolutely perfect-a spunky blend of coffee and espresso that keeps us going all day. One of these goes great with a Lola scone, moist inside, crunchy outside, and delicious everywhere. Prefer a hot beverage? Check out the Matador, a yummy cinnamon mocha that tastes like Christmas, all year long. Savory dishes are served at lunchtime and breakfast, and we always go for a slice of the quiche, when they serve it-eggy and cheesy and great with any of Lola's marvelous coffee drinks. Free wi-fi and an ever-changing gallery of art are two more reasons to drop in at Lola, often.
Yummy, rich, smooth coffee. The cafe americano is fab, both hot and iced. The shop is cozy and the people are friendly -- both those who work there, and those who hang out there. If I lived any closer than I already do, I'd probably go every day.
I'm not a coffee drinker, so I judge coffee shops on their chai and ambiance. The downtown Lola is in a great spot, right on Roosevelt and 3rd Ave, in the bright yellow building that used to house Calabria Italian Grocery. Their iced chai was refreshing and spicy and the feel of the place is clean and modern. Definitely a nice place to go downtown instead of the Starbucks that are all over the place.

I love me some coffee! I love me some iced coffee. What I don't love is paying a ton of money for it, and if I do, it better be damn good. Now, there are many places where you can find a decent ic... More »
All of the sudden, there's a lot of coffee competition on Roosevelt Row. But for us, there's no contest. Fresh house-roasted beans, an in-house bakery, an omelet bar, and a beautiful selection of rotating artwork are just a few reasons why Lola is our go-to downtown coffee shop. Artisan coffee roaster and latte art fanatic Daniel Wayne has created a laid-back atmosphere with a welcoming demeanor -- and some of the best whipped cream in town. The espresso-infused whip gives Lola's coffee... More »
Joerael Elliott's well known in the Phoenix area for his incredible large-scale murals on the sides of Way Cool Hair Salon and The Caravan, but his latest (very) small-scale work has us hooked on lattes and cappuccinos at Lola Coffee. Between mural gigs and canvas projects, the local artist has a part-time barista gig on weekday afternoons, when you can catch him doodling on coffee bags with sharpies. But the real magic happens on foam -- backgrounds and intricate faces emerge as... More »
It's easy to see why there are now two Lola Coffee locations on the planet. This new hang is a spin-off from Lola's original location, and, much like the spot on North Central Avenue, the downtown coffee shop is an intimate place to share designer coffee that's roasted in-house, home-baked goods, and herbal teas. It's also the perfect venue for busy bodies to knock out work stuff or homework. And you can look all stylish doing so, thanks to the polished concrete floors and tables. By the... More »
