CLOSED The best thing to happen to children of a certain age since playing cards met bike wheels, Liberty Frozen Custard sells--what else?--creamy, creamy frozen custard in a 1950s zip-a-doo kind of location: It's actually inside a sparkling former gas station made of space-race-clean enameled steel. The custard is excellent, creamy as can be and a perfect background for Liberty's carefully sourced cashews, pecans, caramel sauce, hot fudge, and the like; order it rendered as a banana split or chocolate malt, made with real malt powder, and you'll be in a bit of summertime heaven. This little picturesque spot features more than just custard, however: In addition to veggie dogs, hot dogs, and a few classic summertime savories, the joint also offers a vintage Austin Healy kiddie car, perfect for photos for grandma, and a handful of beautiful, lovingly restored vintage arcade games.
