It looks more like an oversized mini-mart than a shop you'd go out of your way to visit for a bottle of Grand Cru Bordeaux and a roast leg of lamb. But venture inside this unprepossessing, multi-generation, family-owned market along Lake Washington, and you'll find a fantastic meat counter and one of the best wine selections in town. The layout itself makes abundantly clear what's important here: Nearly an entire aisle at Leschi Mart is devoted exclusively to wine. High-quality meats are prepared daily in-house, from smoked items (bacon, ham, and turkey) to prime rib on Fridays. Perhaps a few links of their tasty Italian fennel sausages for the grill?
