    Painted during the 1970s at the height of the Chicano mural movement, these simple, innocuous images--the Virgin of Guadalupe, a woman in a fedora, a lowrider, among others--painted on an overpass that connects a Fullerton neighborhood to Lemon Park were slated for destruction by the City Council, especially by then-councilman, now-Supervisor Shawn Nelson.
