"Leather Night" 

When it comes to gay bathhouses, traditionally, sex is held there. Beautiful and nasty sex. The sex is free, but it is not promised. You pay to enter, and then arrangements are made between the customers — the only thing that’s getting swapped is liquid. (We hope no one is paying for it in there.)

There are many private clubs for bi and gay men: A place to start is Clubhouse II in Fort Lauderdale. “Woof Thursdays” is its bear and cub night. Its website, clubhouse2.com, offers many deals: On one ad, bear men who attend get four bucks off admission price; they get complimentary snacks and drinks. Cubs aren’t mentioned, making it appear that the bear must take care of that one-night, adopted cub. But if you’re a bear and you bring your cub, it looks like you both get the deal; fair treatment. On Tuesdays, there is “Leather Night,” which Clubhouse II claims is the largest leather party in town. We’ll believe it — on “Leather Night,” there’s complimentary pizza. You get four bucks off admission if you’re in leather, and it’s an open bar. Wait, along with Tuesdays and Thursdays, the bar is also complimentary on Fridays and Saturdays. Oh to be a member of Clubhouse II: There is a steam room, sauna, whirlpool, video lounge, and lockers. Alone time is an option: Private showers and dressing rooms are available — but are they used?

Pay $35 for a six-month membership. For a one-day pass, add $10 to your purchase of a room or locker. Lockers run from $13 to $19. (The new Sunday special is $13). Rooms cost $24, $30 for VIP. Everything typically lasts for eight hours, but Clubhouse II (2650 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) is open all 24 hours of the day.
