Of the many bars scattered along Lyndale Avenue, the Leaning Tower of Pizza is one that truly feels like a neighborhood bar. There's parking across the street by the laundromat, but it is usually pretty empty because most customers walk or bike over for the evening. While many patrons stick to beer and cigarettes on the outside patio, the pizza is pretty good, too. On Mondays you can get a one-topping pizza with a pitcher of beer for a mere $18.95. Toppings range from the classic (pepperoni, banana peppers, olives) to the fancy (sundried tomatoes, Canadian bacon, spinach) to the weird (celery, breakfast bacon, shrimp). Pabst and Miller High Life also go for $2 Mondays from 10 p.m. to midnight. Daily from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. drinkers can enjoy two-for-one beers, as well as wine and martini discounts. Also of note? Not only do they serve food until 1:30 a.m., they also have a late-night Saturday happy hour: From 10 p.m. to midnight you can order up two drinks for the price of one. Watch out: You may be leaning on a friend to get home before the night is through.
