Description

The menus at Le Gourmand include definitions of the oft-confused words "gourmand" and "gourmet." Gourmets are theoreticians and abstract appreciators, whereas gourmands get lost in the aromas and flavors of food and are thus considered inferior. The restaurant's mission is to prepare exquisite food without the highfalutin' fuss. Make no mistake-owners Bruce and Sarah Naftaly (both chefs; she's the pastry chef as well) run an upscale place dedicated to solid country-style foods: game, the woodsy fragrance of mushrooms, and the delicate flavors of vegetables cooked with care and affection.
