Description

The tea at this casual French-style salon de thé is fine, though nothing to write home about - no loose tea, simply a small selection of good-quality bags. Tea lovers had better know what they like, too, since none of the brews is described on the menu. Fortunately the shop offers much more notable stuff, including tasty tartines, which are fashionable open-face sandwiches served on genuine pain de Poilane (France's famed rustic, thick-crust sourdough loaf), topped with elegant and interesting combinations like fresh artichokes and black olive tapenade. And don't miss chef Michel Chiche's handmade macaroons: melt-in-your-mouth almond versions that envelope fillings such as chocolate, pistachio, cassis, or even a seasonal surprise - all as sophisticated as they are seductive.
