Despite the name, it's actually a renovated house sitting on solid ground, and a cozy one at that. There's an outdoor courtyard for the rare sunny day, but regulars like to congregate in the bar for football games (it's usually full every Sunday morning and afternoon during football season). The New Orleans-inspired cuisine includes andouille sausage and shrimp po'boys, which come with a big pile of hand-cut French fries burnished a pleasing bronze on the outside. Wash it down with the "Purple Drank," a nefarious concoction, commonly drunk throughout the South and by former Oakland Raider quarterback JaMarcus Russell, that is normally made of cheap grape soda, rotgut vodka, and cough syrup. If that sounds gross, no worries: at this bar, they make a Seattle-friendly version using vodka, Grand Marnier, lemons, and Parfait d'Amour. Or go for the popular Arrogant Bastard Brown Ale and the specialty Bloody Marys.
