A lively, narrow shoebox with a strange loft up a steep flight of stairs, this neighborhood favorite cares more about good times than speed of service. The burgers and sandwiches are all fine, but this isn't the place if you're in a hurry to see a movie. Rather, stay and linger for another round. Or wait for live music, which is a regular attraction. The beer list is long, and the wait staff is friendly. The TV volume is set low, so you can enjoy the cheerful clamor of conversation around you. If your table turns dull, jump to another one. And take your cell phones outside if you expect to hear your caller. The Portobello burger is prime vegetarian fare and the Thai chicken salad is a veritable mountain of greens under tender chicken strips.
