Description

Las Ventanas means "the windows," which as anyone who visited the restaurant's previous incarnation, Las Alamedas, knows, is very important to the restaurant's concept. The large Memorial restaurant sits near an attractive green space and uses the outdoors as an ambience-enhancer. Serving Mexican food both from the coastal as well as the interior regions, Las Ventanas keeps Houstonians satisfied with big platters of food, such as the Parillada Las Ventanas for two, which includes four jumbo shrimp, a chicken breast, beef tenderloin and Spanish sausage. A children's menu and outdoor play area makes this restaurant very family friendly. Outdoor seating among the gardens and ponds is a popular choice.

    Las Ventanas restaurant and cantina's serves as a portal for Mexico's culinary world and demonstrates rightly why it is one of the world's great cuisines. The proprietor, Alejandro Sneider, family has been serving authentic Mexican food in Houston for more than 35 years. Las Ventanas’ interior radiates sun-baked colors, the ambience is cozy and friendly, and the decor reflects Mexico’s colorful and vibrant culture. The tree- covered and gorgeously landscape patio is the perfect place to unwind. Executive chef Jose Hernandez creates the bold flavors using fresh ingredients that distinguish Mexican cuisine.

    Brilliant sauces showcase the remarkably diverse flavors gracing the authentic, traditional dishes. Indulge your palate with delicious recipes while sipping on an ice-cold margarita. Las Ventanas is also a family haven - you and your children will be enchanted by the patio and the no-mess kid zone.

    I biggest problem I have about this place is trying to decide if I want to sit inside this beautifully decorated Hacienda that looks as much like a wonderful home in Mexico, OR sitting outside on a fabulous patio that I wish I could take home to my backyard! The food is outstanding and they are always improving and adding new dishes. Recently they started Daily Specials that are fantastic because they include a soup or salad and dessert. WIll I be going back? Would you believe tomorrow? Gotta try it... date night or business meeting. It's the perfect place for me.
