Description

Don't wear anything delicate when you go to Lahore Karahi for the tandoori fish. The restaurant takes its name from the round-bottomed pan used in Indian and Pakistani kitchens, but the room is heavily, bewitchingly seasoned with the smoke from the tandoor oven. Zulfiqar "Guddu" Haider cooks some of the city's most forceful, most unadulturated, least sloppy Pakistani food. The tandoori fish - chunks of sea bass slathered in pureed herbs and spices and blackened around the edges - is is best, and most popular, dish.

    This place is by far the best spot to get Indian food in SF! It's small and busy so sometimes there can be some lag in service, but it's well worth it. Try the chicken kebabs and the chicken vindaloo. The staff is great, always attentive.
