Don't wear anything delicate when you go to Lahore Karahi for the tandoori fish. The restaurant takes its name from the round-bottomed pan used in Indian and Pakistani kitchens, but the room is heavily, bewitchingly seasoned with the smoke from the tandoor oven.

This place is by far the best spot to get Indian food in SF! It's small and busy so sometimes there can be some lag in service, but it's well worth it. Try the chicken kebabs and the chicken vindaloo. The staff is great, always attentive.
In a neighborhood flush with Indian/Pakistani restaurants, it's hard to stand out, but Lahore Karahi does. And it's not for the entertaining Bollywood flicks on the TV, or the nondescript, '70s basement rec-room type ambience. It's for how good the Tandoori fish is.
