Located in an Apulian mini-neighborhood, La Sorrentina is a pizzeria and informal café that benefits from its relationship with a bakery across the street and a much fancier restaurant down the block. As you enter, you'll be confronted with an amazing display of daily specials, with names in magic marker on placards, including, on a recent warm afternoon, spears of fried zucchini, mellow tripe and potatoes in tomato sauce, chicken sorrentina topped with fresh mozzarella, green beans dotted with shards of garlic, and a wild invention of chicken with artichokes and sundried tomatoes. The Sicilian slice also rocks.
