This little bistro in the West Village specializes in French seafood. Chef Didier Pawlicki's seasonal menu changes often, but it almost always draws its inspiration from the south of France, where he was born. If you're lucky enough to grab one of the 25 seats, don't forget to bring your own bottle of wine to the table (no corkage fee). Order a la carte or show up on Sunday through Thursday from 5pm to 7pm and choose the $29, three-course prix fixe menu. Steamed mussels are served four different ways, a seafood shepherd's pie comes packed with wild Alaskan Pollock, and seared hanger steak is served with roasted garlic and a parsley sauce. The BYOB policy is even more convenient than most; you can call nearby Hudson Wine and Spirits and have your bottle delivered to the restaurant. The space is the epitome of cozy, cheerful yellow walls and vintage posters surrounding tables packed with dates and other diners.—Keith Wagstaff
