Simply put: La Pizza offers some of the best pizza you'll ever sink your teeth into. Everything in this small restaurant is house-made, from the meatballs to the lasagna noodles. The pizza dough is fluffy, crisp and hand-tossed. The mozzarella is 100 percent whole-milk cheese -- which means no oil dripping down your arm here. The owners are alums of Bob's Seafood, so you can top your pie with lobster, crab, shrimp and even salmon -- call ahead, though. Or try stromboli, calzone, a sausage roll or a hero sandwich made with fresh bread. The place has only four tables, but it's worth hanging around to watch the kitchen in action.

There is no onomatopoetic term that can accurately convey the sound of biting into a perfect New York-style pizza crust. But there is perfect New York-style pizza around these parts that will make that sound for you when you do bite into it, and it's waiting for you at La Pizza, the teeny-tiny joint that plenty of in-the-know U.
