La Fiorentina, the latest addition to restaurateur Alberto Lombardi's empire, is memorable mostly for its cost. The prices at this Tuscan-style steakhouse are eye-popping on the menu and devastating on the final bill. Wise diners will focus on the mild dishes that La Fiorentina does right. The bracingly briny baked clams are terrific, and undulating ribbons of taglioni, the shade of a faded page in an old book, are wonderful. For that matter, so is the rustic dining room, designed to transport diners to sunny Italy, although depending upon the order, a plane ticket might be cheaper.
