La Condesa has a pretty simple menu - tacos, corn quesadillas, and burros - although the flavors aren't limited to Sonoran, like at many restaurants in these parts. There's seafood from the coastal regions, Oaxacan black mole, Mexico City-style chicken tinga, and melt-in-your-mouth cochinita pibil from the Yucatán. Don't miss the outstanding salsa bar (cilantro crema and strawberry salsa are a couple highlights), and be sure to try the thirst-quenching horchata with pecans and fresh fruit.
Great Horchata. Quesa's are very nice and unique. Salsa Bar is very fresh with a nice variety of offerings.
Umm..YES! This place is very good. Authentic delicious tacos that rock my socks. I'm getting hungry as I type.
I have gone to Mexico City once before and the food here is reminiscent of the quality and type of food you get there. Its really authentic and not the typical number 4 chicken enchilada meal. I almost fell out of my chair when I had the conchita pibil!

The tacos and burritos at this small and stylish Central Phoenix eatery certainly are good, but let's face it: It's the salsa bar that put this place on the map. There usually are 12 different salsas on hand, consistently well prepared and wonderfully flavorful -- from sweet to spicy to fruity to tangy. There's a cool cilantro cream with a refreshing, light taste, a zesty tomatillo, and more unique selections like strawberry and pecan salsa. Spread them out on your table for a sensory... More »
At La Condesa Gourmet Taco Shop, the tacos are pretty tasty, but it's the brilliant salsa bar that keeps us coming back for more. We seriously have dreams of the pecan salsa. A dozen colorful sweet and savory salsas are on full display to enhance your already gourmet eats. Tried-and-true pico de gallo, tomatillo, and chipotle salsas share space with more unusual offerings like cool cilantro crema, peanut salsa, and pretty-in-pink strawberry salsa. The only thing that's consistent across all... More »
We figured we were in for some good tacos as soon as we spotted the salsa bar at this hip little 16th Street hangout. Freshly made pico de gallo, smoky chipotle salsa, luscious cilantro crema, strawberry salsa, and kicky tomatillo salsa were just a few of the offerings, all intended to dress up tacos so good they hardly need any embellishment. Zesty chicken tinga, carne asada, deep-fried dogfish shark, savory Oaxacan black mole, and juicy, slow-roasted cochinita pibil are among the stellar... More »
