As its name says, part of the restaurant is a mariachi hall. It's unbelievably packed with musicians and dancers on weekend nights. But the other half of the place is a first-rate Mexican restaurant, specializing in seafood. Garlic fish is outstanding, regional soups are gripping, and when the menu says spicy, it ain't kidding.

There's always La Casa del Mariachi, where the excellent Mexican fare, the Crayola-bright interior, and the music makes it the place to be. On weekends, the adjacent dancehall hosts quite the fiesta with a full mariachi band, brass and all.
