This downtown staple for dependable, if not necessarily stellar, Sonoran-style food is packed at lunchtime with government workers and business types looking for a quick and reasonably priced Mexican meal. A chip-and-salsa bar certainly is one of the main draws at La Canasta Capitolio, and virtually everything on the nearly overwhelming menu is under $10, including specialties such as steak picado, taquitos del puerco, and pollo rico. La Canasta Capitolio also sells many of items (tamales, green chile, salsa, tortillas, etc.) in bulk and appears to be a downtown go-to for large party platters and catering.
