Description

Long a favorite bakery with Palm Beachers, who send their chauffeurs to pick up petits fours and croissants and with locals or tourists hunting for a quick, delicious lunch, La Bonne Bouche started out small and has since expanded. Apart from the lovely courtyard centered around a fountain, they've added a full dining room serving bistro-style dinners Thursday through Saturday. Proprietors Eric and Sara Regnier (Eric is French, Sara American) serve homemade pate sandwiches en baguette, niçoise salad, smoked salmon platters, and the melt-in-your-mouth pastries that landed them a cameo on the Food Network.

The man who creates these delectable treats every morning is undeniably French -- gruff, impatient, always breaking a sweat. But that only adds to the café's street cred. Everything on the menu, from the baguette to the tomato soup, is divinely fresh. Sitting in the courtyard, soaking up the scent of flowers in the... More »
