Despite its decidedly untrendy ambience, La Barca is one of the Marina's iconic hangouts. This pseudo-Spanish Colonial Mexican eatery has been filling the bellies of locals and tourists decamped along Motel Row since 1963, offering huge platters of enchiladas, burritos, tacos, tamales, and classier fare like arroz con pollo, chili Colorado, and gallina con mole. On weekends the joint is transformed into party central, with live music inspiring the margarita-fueled clientele onto the dance floor until the wee hours. Several flatscreen TVs plus nachos, guacamole, and Mexican beer make this a good place to catch the game too.
