LA Bar is the slightly more upscale little sister to Ragin Cajun', located right next door and owned by the same members of Houston's vast Mandola family. The prices reflect the nicer environs however, so beware. Happy hour is the best time to go, when its chargrilled oysters are half-price and both beer and wine are heavily discounted. At lunch, don't miss the meatball po-boy topped with Mandola's family red sauce. At dinner, the well-done fish entrées like blackened catfish are the way to go.
