Description

Is La Acapulqueña a homey hacienda with a mariachi soundtrack or a hidden nexus of Tex-Mex and Mexican food illuminated by neon? It seems to be both, as many loyal Dallas customers have attested. Here, all tables receive chips and salsa, but they also get a side of queso to boot. The sizzling lunch special fajitas platter is a popular dish, as are the three fajita tacos topped with lettuces, tomato and shredded cheese. Dinner comes with a side of live music, most likely a mariachi serenade. The menu has a selection of generously portioned enchiladas, chimichangas, fajitas and combo platters that will leave no eater hungry. If you aren't too full and have wisely had your leftovers packed for take-out, you can purchase various Mexican candies and treats on your way out of the restaurant.

But the real draw here is the mariachi duo that makes its way around the restaurant at night, providing a pleasant soundtrack to a pleasant meal. Plus, on the way home, you'll probably be in the mood to recite a few of your favorite lines from Three Amigos (pretty much... More »
