In an area known for its fashionable cafes and glitzy martini bars, Krueger's is the best kind of anomaly: a genuinely old-school neighborhood watering hole. In this bar on the outskirts of Clayton (smoking is permitted, folks), they might not know your name when first you walk in, but they'll make it their business to learn it -- and to make you feel welcome while they're at it. Even those who are lodging in style at the Ritz would be well advised to walk a block down Forsyth Bouelvard to Krueger's to satisfy their bar bar jones. From the marlin on the wall to the smoke-stained Bud mirrors to the almost entirely deep-fried menu, Krueger's, located just over the municipal line in U. City, is everything that Clayton... More »
