    This is your cue to make a break to Kolbys Corner Pocket. Forget about those rinky-dink matchbox tables you have to pop quarters into. The 22 regulation-size tables here are works of art from the likes of Gandy, Gold Crown III and Brunswick.     If you're serious about billiards, follow the pros. Literally shoved into the corner pocket of a Tempe strip mall, Kolby's Corner Pocket attracts the top names in pool. Last year, trick shot pro Johnny Archer took on fans at Kolby's, and earlier this year, local superstar Scott Frost bested world-famous One Pocket player Efren Reyes on his home turf. Sure, there are cheaper pool halls in town, but cheap often equals moth-eaten felt, shabby balls, and rickety old cues. Trust us: You want your balls to be smooth and fresh, and Kolby's equipment is in tip-top shape. The hall has 15 nine-foot regulation tables, a full menu, and bar. There are also a few less expensive (but smaller) hourly tables, if you're not on par with the pros.

    CatCalls2010 Kolby's Corner Pocket Billiard is My Secret Joy Man, I've avoided writing about this joint for a while. Only because it is so marvelous. It is beautiful, clean, affordable, great for single women, filled with courteous human beings....and, oh, by the way...has elegant, smooth, fabulous tables (12 regulation and 4 bar sized) and an abundance of great cues. The staff remember my name and my beer (only beer and wine are served but it's fine...'cause the shooting is so damn good). Service is flawless. (And the server on Women Shoot Free Thursday Nights is beautiful, gracious and stunningly efficient.) Management is attentive and listens to customers. Prices are astonishingly great. The menu is interesting, affordable and the actual food is terrific. Parking is easy. Lot is hoodlum free. Authorities have never been seen (and I've been there often.) Check in & out is simple. Benches out front for smoking and the joint is set back so there is some discretion. Sound system is very good and the music is on the money. Plain and simple, I love this joint. Very, very happy cat. Gleefully happy cat. This Cat calls Kolby's Corner Pocket Billiards the Best, Most Enjoyable Shot Around. Kolby's Corner Pocket is THE PLACE TO SHOOT POOL. PERIOD.

    Kolby's has great food at a reasonable price. Mainly burgers, sanwhiches, and classics such as sub sandwhiches, and roast beeft sanwhiches. They have a ton of pool tournaments that are always going. It's a fun place where everybody knows eachother
