Most outdoor batting cages suffer from the wear and tear of AZ summers, with ratty nets and sun-cracked equipment. And it's more than likely that the machines haven't been calibrated in years, resulting in more junk than strikes down the middle. You'll never bat against blotter-licker Dock Ellis and, well, odds are pretty damn good that you'll never stand in line to try out for the Diamondbacks. No worries, because you can still swing some wood or aluminum all summer long at the Kiwanis Park Batting Range. The Kiwanis management team recommends the "Turn, Look, Step, and Swing" approach to improve your focus and take your game to the next level, and that doesn't mean getting stoned like ex-Red Sox hurler Bill "Spaceman" Lee and offering up your drug-induced body as a human L-screen.
