Description

What does it take to be hip these days? Not long ago it was a mullet, a PBR tallboy, and a pair of tapered jeans. But after a few visits to Kings Wine Bar in southwest Minneapolis, it seems the new standard-bearers are sporting a glass of red wine, a 55419 zip code, and an infant wearing a onesie over a long-sleeved T-shirt. It's about time that Kingfield had a real neighborhood hangout and King's seems to be just that: it's a café, a wine bar, a coffee shop, and a lounge. It even has its very own book club. Chef Pete Maccaroni, previously of the Sample Room offers a menu of local, seasonal New American cuisine. The homemade tater tots may attract the most attention, but the real stars are the value-priced dinner entrées, which stand up to those at more upscale eateries.

    This is my new favorite hangout! great wine & beer list and awesome food. THe staff is wonderful. great place to get together with the girls. The brunch is good too! they have a $5 kids menu - and my kids LOVE THE FOOD.

    This is a great place to chill and have a glass of wine or a beer. Try their grilled cheese sandwich and homemade fries. Don't be fooled by the normalty of the items.
