Weekend warriors riding motorcycles up I-70 in the summertime -- or lugging skis and snowboards up I-70 in the wintertime -- have probably driven past Kermitt's Roadhouse dozens of times without giving it a second glance. But if you want to make a stop on your way to or from the mountains -- or simply want to escape the city for a bit -- Kermitt's is a perfect destination. The menu features the burgers, Mexican plates and green chile typical of a Colorado bar, plus some surprises like bratwurst and veggie burgers. To slake your thirst, there's HardTail's amber lager on tap, as well as some domestics, microbrews and imports in bottles. There's wine, too, of course, and the Kermarita, a mixture of Grand Marnier, amaretto and Milagro tequila that's the joint's signature drink. Head for the hills!
