When you're hankering for some good old-fashioned belly-filling home cooking, settle in among the gingham tablecloths and blue-plate ambience of this plain-and-simple Lower Haight hangout. Breakfast specialties include hush puppies, biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, and cornmeal pancakes topped with strawberries, bananas, and lemon curd. I discovered "The Fish" when some friends began playing there regularly. The natives are friendly, the pool table competitive, and, on the nights when 'The Shinbone Dukes' are playing, the blues are smokin'!
